Is Body Language Total BS? No Comments
Ok, let me try something on you straight off the bat.
Stand up and, just for now, think about standing tall, chest up and shoulders back. How does that make you feel? Does it change you mood? Do you think it would change your vibe?
Now, slouch down and drop your head forward. Do you feel any difference? I know you do, and I know that because research has proven that the way you hold yourself affects your confidence and mood.
So why do so many guys hold themselves so badly and move so creepy?… when everybody knows about body language.???
Because…
Movement & Posture are not choices… Just like attraction is not a choice.
You are in a bar and spot a woman from across the room and you have made judgements about that person before you have even spoken to them. You look at how they hold themselves, do they look confident or nervous? Is the person comfortable or talkative or are they out of place and quiet? You do and I do it, everyone does this so why not make an effort to change your body language to be the strong, confident and comfortable person?
The way you hold yourself is a massive part of how other people perceive you, before you have even opened your mouth. So why do people still hold themselves in a poor posture?
This is because your posture is regulated by your tonic postural system which is constantly receiving information from receptors in your body like your vestibular system, your eyes, TMJ, skin, proprioceptors in the feet and your muscles and joints. You do not have to think about it. Totally automatic.
Therefore you cannot change your posture by thinking about it.
Movement Is Not A Choice!!!
Therefore Body Language books telling you to stand this way or put your thumbs that way, for me,are pretty much B.S.
How many times have you heard someone say to you “stand up straight”, only for you to drop back down in to a slouch within 15 seconds once you thought about something else.
To change your posture you need switch on sleeping muscles so that they pull you upright. The position that you are currently being held in is absolutely the best one for you at this time as chosen by your body. Your body is simply trying to protect you and keep you functioning in the most energy efficient manner… and this is all done subconsciously.
Let me say that again Subconsciously. That means no matter how hard you tell yourself to stand up straight, the minute you start thinking about other things, such as approaching, you will fall back into your normal posture.
The bodies nervous system needs to be reprogrammed so that it holds itself upright without conscious control. This will also be the most relaxed position for your muscles and bones which is a trait of a naturally attractive male.
Now please don’t get me started on movement. You may be able to bluff good posture if your are concentrating really hard but the moment you walk…POW… your cover is blown. Cover being the correct word because your body is like the cover of a book and women are judging your book cover the movement they see you and especially the way you move. All your insecurities and self esteem is etched into your body and shows up in muscles restrictions… and the moment you move they are high lighted. But if you work on yourself you will move in a manner that triggers attraction in women on a subconscious level… and women can pick this type of male movement literally from the corner of their eye from across the room. They are programmed to pick this up in their environment.
This is why I have developed my Code Of The Natural system based on movement science and my 15 years in elite sport.
A great exercise to start to release old patterns of movement and become more relax can be found here
and it only takes 1 minute to do. Remember to test before and after so you see the amazing results…
